Assam NMMS Scholarship 2023: NMMSS 2023 or National Means Cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme 2023 is a scholarship program sponsored by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Govt of India. The aim of this scholarship is to help the children from the weaker sections of society. Under this scheme, students studying in Government, Government-aided and local body schools and whose parental income are not more than Rs. 3,50,000/- per annum will get an annual scholarship amount of Rs. 12,000 per student (Rs. 1000 per month) for a maximum of four years (class 9 to 12).

Assam NMMS Scholarship 2023 Notification

Directorate of Secondary Education, Assam has released an official notification regarding the National Means Cum Merit Scholarship Examination, 2023. As per the notification, online applications are invited from the students studying in class VIII for NMMS Examination 2023 to be held on 18 November 2023 in Assam, sponsored by the Department of School Education & Literacy, Ministry of Education, Govt of India. To qualify for NMMS Scholarship, students need to clear a written examination consisting of MAT test (Mental Ability Test) and SAT tests (Scholastic Aptitude Test) on topics such as Mathematics, Science, Social Sc, and General Knowledge.

The online application process has already started from 17 August 2023, which can be submitted through the official website of DSE Assam @madhyamik.assam.gov.in or through the “Bidyarthi” Mobile App @bidyarthi.co.in. The last date for online application is 10 October 2023.

NMMS Scholarship 2023 – Eligibility Criteria

The minimum eligibility criteria to apply for National Means Cum Merit Scholarship – NMMS Scheme 2023 are as mentioned below:

1. A student must be studying in class 8 in order to be eligible for the NMMS 2023 Scholarship exam.
2. A student must have passed Class 7 with a passing score of 55% (or 50% for SC/ST students) in order to be eligible for the NMMS 2023 Scholarship exam.
3. The student family’s total annual income should not be more than Rs. 3,50,000/-
4. Students studying as regular students in class 9, 10, 11 and 12 in a Government, Government-aided and local body schools for a maximum period of four years.
5. Students who take and pass the NMMS Exam 2023 are entitled to be considered for the scholarship.

Who is not eligible for the NMMS Scholarship 2023?

1. Students studying in private schools too can appear in NMMS scholarship exam 2023, but they won’t be considered for the scholarship.
2. Students from Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, Kendriya Vidyalayas, Sainik Schools or private schools are not eligible for the NMMS scholarship 2023.
3. Students enrolled in boarding or residential institutions operated by State Govt Institutions are are also not eligible for NMMS Scholarship Exam 2023.

Students who meets all the required eligibility criteria and want to participate in the NMMSS exam 2023 have to submit their online application form through the official web portal DSE Assam or through the “Bidyarthi” Mobile App. Students may follow the below mention steps to complete the online application process –

Assam NMMS Scholarship Admit Card 2023

The Directorate of Secondary Education, Assam has issued the NMMS Assam admit card for the National Means Merit Scholarship (NMMS) Examination 2023. The candidates who have submitted online applications for the NMMS Examination 2023 will be able to download the admit cards from the official NMMS Assam scholarship portal at madhyamik.assam.gov.in.
