IIT JAM 2024: IIT JAM or The Joint Admission Test for Masters is a national-level entrance examination for the aspirants seeking admission into courses such as M.sc, M.Sc (Tech), MS (Research), MSc-M.Tech Dual Degree, Joint MSc-PhD and MSc-PhD Dual Degree offered by various participating institutes of IIT JAM 2024 such as IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Patna, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Bhubaneswar, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Roorkee, IIT Kanpur, etc. Candidates seeking admission to select Postgraduate Programmes for the academic year 2024-25 must appear in JAM 2024 Examination. There is no age restriction.
IIT JAM 2024 Notification
IIT Madras is going to be the organising institute of the JAM 2024 entrance exam. The online registration for the Joint Admission Test for Masters – JAM 2024 is going to start on 05 September 2023. Candidates who wish to take the exam must apply online at the official website –@jam.iitm.ac.in once the JAM 2024 application form filling begins. JAM 2024 will be a computer-based test consisting of seven papers- Biotechnology (BL) , Chemistry (CY), Economics (EN), Geology (GG), Mathematics (MA), Mathematical Statistics (MS), and Physics (PH).
Applicants with an undergraduate degree or who are currently in their last year of a UG programme are qualified to apply for JAM 2024. There is no upper age limit for appearing in JAM 2024. Foreign nationals with Indian degrees may also apply for the JAM Entrance Exam 2024. The JAM Exam Date 2024 is 11 February 2024.

What is IIT JAM?
JAM Full form is Joint Admission Test for Masters (MSc). It is an all-India level online entrance exam conducted by the IITs every year on a rotational basis on behalf of the Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD), Govt of India. IIT JAM is conducted to provide admission to candidates in MSc and other postgraduate courses offered at IITs and integrated PhD courses offered by the IISc Bangalore.
JAM Score is used for admission to various postgraduate programmes such as (i) M.Sc., (ii) M.Sc. (Tech.), (iii) MS (Research), (iv) M.Sc. – M.Tech. Dual Degree, (v) Joint M.Sc. – Ph.D., and (vi) M.Sc. – Ph.D. Dual Degree, across multiple disciplines by premier IIT institutes across the country. Admissions to various programmes using JAM 2024 Score can be divided into two categories:
IIT JAM 2024 Eligibility Criteria
IIT JAM Eligibility:
- Nationality: Both Indian and Foreign national Applicants can apply for IIT JAM 2024.
- Qualifying Exam: Candidates applying for JAM 2024 should hold bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with Minimum Educational Qualifications (MEQs) from any recognized University. Applicants appearing in the final examination of bachelors degree can also apply for the JAM Exam 2024
- Age Limit: There is no age limit to apply.

How to Fill the JAM 2024 Application Form?
IIT JAM 2024 Application Form: Candidates can apply for JAM 2024 only through JAM Online Application Processing System (JOAPS) available through “Candidate Portal” button on the website @https://jam.iitm.ac.in from 05 September 2023 to 13 October 2023. Applicants can complete the IIT JAM Registration 2023 in the following ways:
- Visit the IIT JAM 2024 official website @jam.iitm.ac.in
- Candidates must first register on the website by providing information such as their Name, Email id, Phone no. and Password.
- Following successful IIT JAM 2024 registration, applicants will be provided an enrollment ID and an OTP.
- Fill out the application form with personal, academic and address information.
- Upload the scanned photo, signature and other documents like certificate (for OBC-NCL / EWS / SC / ST / PwD)
- Pay the application fee through online payment options.
- Save the application form as a PDF or print it for future reference.

JAM 2024 Exam Pattern
The candidates should know about the JAM Exam Pattern 2024 before preparing for the exam. The IIT JAM Exam consists of 60 questions with 100 marks for every subject paper. The paper is divided into 3 sections. The 60 questions are divided into MCQs, MSQs and NATs type patterns.
