Thengphakri Champion Mission Recruitment 2023: The BTR Govt has launched a new scheme called “Thengphakri Mission” on the occasion of 77th Independence Day. The mission is named after Thenphakri, The legendary Bodo heroine, who was also known as the first woman revenue collector, a tehsildar, in Pre- Independence India (British India). Under this mission, a total of 420 women candidates are invited for employment in 420 VCDCs under the region of BTR.

Thengphakri Champion Scheme Recruitment 2023: On 77th Independence Day, Govt of BTR launched the visionary Thengphakri Digital Empowerment Program in presence of Honorable CEM Shri Pramod Boro, BTR to make VCDCs more effective, while strengthening grassroots governance and democracy in BTR. The program is an combination of Women Empowerment and Leadership initiative. Under the initiative, a ”Women Champion” will be recruited in each of the 420 VCDCs of BTR for 2 years to increase digital literacy and digital governance at the grassroots level. The online application process for the Thengphakri Mission Recruitment 2023 has already started on 16 August 2023 and the the online application link will be active till 31 August 2023.
VCDC stands for Village Council Development Committee, and it is a local self-govt organization based in BTR Region (Kokrajhar, Chirang, Baksa, Udalguri). VCDC, as a local government body, is in charge of putting development programmes into action at the grassroots level. Village Panchayat is the equivalent of VCDC. Job Roles and Responsibilities
The champions will have the following roles and responsibilities –
- Regular visit to the community under the assigned VCDC
- Understanding issues faced by the community and providing solutions with stakeholder
- Understandig the entitlement of Government schemes as per eligibility criteria
- Organizing regular sessions on women empowerment, digital empowerment at the community level.
- Work closely with the grassroots institutions and communities.
- Facilitating Gram Sabha with the consultation of VCDC to identify issues and report to the authority
- Any work assigned by the authorities.
Eligibility Criteria
The following is the eligibility criteria for the position:
- Age should not exceed 30 years at the time of applying.
- Minimum qualification required is graduate.
- The candidates have to agree to same VCDC posting as their permanent residence.
- Must be conversant with the common language of the VCDC.
- Must be a Female/ transgender identifying as a woman.
- Should be single and having no living children at the time of applying.
